Twenty seven (27) members braved the wet weather and headed off for another visit to one of the best car shows in the world.  We met at Geelong Station early and caught the early train to Melbourne.  Some lively banter took place as we had the train carriage to ourselves.
We arrived in Melbourne to be greeted by heavy rain, but that did now deter this hardy group, as we headed to the Exhibition Building by tram.  A bonus was that it was Seniors Week and we all got free train and tram travel.  On arriving at the show we were greeted by some amazing modern classics parked out the front of the building.  Once inside, it was like entering “Aladin’s Cave”.  The cars on show were amazing and you can see the photos in our website photo library.
One MG that stood out was the 1935 PA Airline Coupe.  This is one of the very best examples of prewar MG’s in the world and has won many global awards.  It was recently updated here in Geelong and our own Ben Connelly at BMC Performance carried out a lot of the work.  It was a really brilliant example of our marque.
After viewing all of the exhibits we had some lunch at the show and then headed home under sunny skies via tram and train.
We recommend you put this event in your reminders for next year as it is a must for all car lovers.
