THE FISH AND CHIP RUN, 2024

Herb Adler

The annual fish and chip run, to Queenscliffe’s foreshore, was held on Thursday 29th February. As usual it was a great evening, with new and old friends, and perfect weather. The journey there was via the foreshore, from Portarlington to St Leonards, then inland to the Queenscliffe road, turning left at the old fort., into Gellibrand street. Parking was the next problem, with MGs and other assorted cars cluttering up the place, we had to park right down the bottom of the park and trudge all the way up to the eating site, and then back again.

Anyway there were 90 meals ordered and some extra, so that makes at least 45 cars, but probably a few more for single drivers.

Talking of cars, I did a visual survey and noticed MGAs, MGBs, modern MGs, plus an orange Mini, a black Austin Healy and several non LBCs.

All in all, a good time and feed was had by all, the fish pieces were huge!
