Competition Report December 2025 - Graeme Ruby
The day was great, forecast 32, hardly any wind and the surface at Breakwater freshly mowed. Only problem was lack of entrants. However that meant more runs for those that came to our 2nd of November Motorkhana.
Early Pace was shown by Bob Somerville in the K series powered Midget followed by myself and Graham Peacock. Adam Sharp was pushing Grandpa Ross Hutton who had the steely look going. Harry Sherman had an early hiccup doing a WD on all tries at the first pattern but thereafter was amongst the faster cars in the Club MGF. Craig Ballinger was doing a Hare and Tortoise act being the slowest car in the first pattern but after that very consistent results to end up 2nd outright. Bob Somerville and Graham Peacock both in contention coming into the last pattern both had shockers managing to do WD's in all runs.
Ross Hutton just kept going and was comfortably leading Grandson Adam coming into the final run when Adam pulled out a ripper 3 seconds quicker than Ross to narrowly beat him and get third outright. Ross was one of two competitors to have no WD's on the day.
Despite the small group all had a good time and enjoyed the extra time to cook and eat the snags and hamburgers. Thank you to Julie Ballinger who helped all day along with all the competitors who helped with timing.
