Wagga Wagga MG Car Club was formed in 1990 and in the mid 90`s they started GoF. Our club went once maybe twice then. In 2004 we started to go again with the initial trip involving 25 cars as part of the Annual Tour of that year with. Our club won many trophies on that occasion. From this event our club has gone annually except for two years of COVID. In 2022 the GoF celebrated 25 years of this great event.
This year's weekend away started with a Friday night Nogg-n-Natter. Saturday morning was registration and the judging of our cars. After lunch we all left on a mystery car drive which finished at a hall for a lovely CWA afternoon tea. Some of our members reconfirmed their previous reputations by going straight for the egg and lettuce sandwiches or the big cream sponges. Saturday night was a theme night with a two-course sit down meal. The evening was full of fun and laughter. Sunday started with Brekkie cooked by the local Lion club, during the morning during which trophies were handed out. I cannot record a year when our club did not win trophies, and this year was no exception. Despite the smaller group of cars, we managed two first places, Jose Lopoz in his MGA, and Roger Phipps in his MGB GT . Special thanks to the Wagga Wagga Club for putting on such a great event!
As of 2026 the GOF weekend will be shared between the MG Clubs of Canberra and Wagga Wagga, the venue alternating between those two cities, with the 2026 event being in Canberra in 2027 returning to Wagga Wagga.
Our trip this was full of fun, laughter, red wine, and storytelling.
A little like a football trip, what happens away stays away!

Thanks to all that made this trip so special.
Mel and Judi.
