Competition report from Synday 12th November - Graeme Ruby
The morning of our Motorkhana on the 14th of September was lovely and sunny, a pleasant change from recent times. Unfortunately, later in the morning the wind got up making it a little unpleasant. We put up our new Club Marquee which is great. Entries of the old fellas was a little down with only 6 entering but two others came along and helped due to cars being not right at the moment. The great news was the 6 youth entrants who all had a good time giving the club car a good work-out along with a couple of other member cars.
Alan Gasson bought along his 4 children who all drove well, picking up correct clutch use by the end of the morning. Harry Sherman continues to improve and Adam Sharp gave his Pa a shellacking. (Ross Hutton)
Nick Wood driving my car kindly did not beat me but came close, followed by Bob Somerville in the K series powered Midget, Craig Ballinger in the MGBGTV8, Adam Sharp in Ross Hutton's Clubby with Ross close behind. Harry Sherman driving some events in my car and some in the Club car was next. The Gasson family was next with George claiming bragging rights followed by Charlotte, Hannah and beginner Oliver followed. Hopefully all enjoyed the day enough to come along to our next Motorkhana on the 2nd of November. Thank you to all the officials on the day including Graeme Deahl as Scrutineer and cook, Kim as cook, Julie Ballinger, Graham Peacock, Ken McAllister and Rod Dorman and others for doing timing. And Rod Dorman for transport officer.
By the time you read this Phillip Island Sprints will be done and a busy October coming. Events are Calder Sprints on 11th October and Mt Tarrengower Hillclimb on 18-19th October.
