Twenty-three GMGCC club members and their cars meet at the Fork N Flower Café, at the Geelong Flower Farm for the traditional coffee and chat. Following feedback from some members, the change in venue provided a highly anticipated opportunity to indulge in a treat with one's coffee - and the "crowd" was not disappointed! More than half indulged in something from the extensive range of biscuits, cakes, scones and slices on offer to accompany their coffee and chat!
The gathering of cars included a 1934 NA (oldest present), three TCs, three TFs, two Magnettes, three MGAs and four MGBs.
After the usual camaraderie and chatter nine attendees "hopped" into their vehicles for a pleasant drive, via the Surf Coast Highway and Mount Duneed Road, to the Anglesea Golf Club for lunch. Even with the reduced numbers, some (no names/pack drill) still managed to accept the wrong meals! Initially no-one was putting their hand up for the fish & chips and then the next two meals were accepted by the wrong folk. I am pleased to say that our performance improved after this!
The weather was perfect for the drive to/from Anglesea in the older cars –fine and sunny with a light breeze. Everyone enjoyed their meals and those that had not been to the Anglesea Golf Club before were very impressed with the venue.
Please note next month's get together for coffee and chat, will be on Thursday 12th December at The Flying Brick Cider House, staying on for lunch if desired.
